THE ongoing “Vive Fuengirola con Amor” will continue the town’s celebration of love with a picnic for all ages on Saturday 15 in the Parque Natural. The day will start at 1pm and will feature live music and a raffle among other surprises.

Isabel Moreno, Councillor for festivities announced the event by saying “This is a day of living in which we want all Fuengiroleños to enjoy our city, its green areas and celebrate a feeling that is universal,” and asked that those who wish to attend simply bring something to eat, as there will be a bar where drinks will be served for free.

Miguel el Caletero will be the singer in charge of entertaining the day, where there will also be sports activities, taking advantage of the track area near the park. “This area of the city is incomparable and, in addition, from the Town Hall the whole environment is already being decorated so that attendees enjoy a unique afternoon accompanied by their loved ones and their friends.”

This innovative picnic is integrated into the programme of “Vive Fuengirola con Amor” a nine-day long event that has combined the work of all the councillors of the Town Hall to, in turn, achieve the involvement of the entire town in a celebration that seeks to promote Fuengirola as a tourist destination in a traditionally low time.

Since last Friday the town has been overflowing with love as various events such as dance classes, concerts and showings of romantic films at Cine Alfil bring the residents closer together. Restaurants and shops have offered discounts and filled their windows with love hearts and red love benches and photo frames have been dotted around the town creating photo settings for lovers. The Town Hall has also installed a gigantic love heart in the Plaza de Espana, the setting for the start of the Carrera Urbana which will close the festivities on Sunday.
