SPAIN’S Costa del Sol will allocate a total of €306,500 on initiatives to promote its luxury tourism offer to an international market.

This year, Costa del Sol will be promoted at tourism fairs across the globe, including the International Luxury Travel Market (ITLM) in Latin America in August which brings together the best travel agents who curate itineraries for the region’s elite.

Later that month, officials from Turismo Costa del Sol will attend the Virtuoso Travel Week in Las Vegas, one of the reference events in luxury tourism that unites professionals from almost a hundred countries.

In December, they will travel to France to attend the 19th edition of the ILTM in Cannes, considered to be one of the most important events for the luxury sector in Europe.

Turismo Costa del Sol will also spend a proportion of the funds on two travel forums – Emotions Europe and Connections Luxury. Held in November in Seville, Emotions Europe brings together the best European luxury travel providers and clients from around the world.

Connections Luxury is also a leader for luxury tourism worldwide that is organised by Turismo Costa del Sol, Malaga City Council and Turismo Andaluz.

There will also be an exclusive marketing campaign launched for the Elite segment in The Spear’s 500 Travel Guide and Luxe Magazine.

Luxury tourism has huge potential for the Costa del Sol, generating more than half a million annual visitors where their expenditure exceeds €600 per day in a travel budget that ranges between €3,000 and €50,000.
