As of 2021 changes of the clock will be a thing of the past, with no more springing forward or falling back.
In March 2019 the European Parliament approved the end of clock changes for EU member states. As Euro Weekly News understands, it’s still unclear whether the EU will stick to summer or winter time for good, but the decision will come into play as of next year.
The decision will possibly leave Ireland in two time zones and London two hours behind Madrid.
For the time being, the UK government has made it clear that it doesn’t want to follow the EU’s example.
