ADRA Local Police have arrested a repeat offender for criminal damage and attempted robbery after a call reporting an individual had lobbed a stone through a shop window on the Avenida del Mediterraneo.
Officers found the suspect sitting in a vehicle parked on a plot on Calle La Voz de Almeria.
According to Adra council the arrested man had a police record.
He had already been detained a few weeks earlier by Local Police for damage to property with an iron bar in the Calle Cuesta del Faro area, the local authority said. Police have also linked him to an incident in which a stolen car crashed into a property, the smashing of the window of a car parked in Calle Porton, and a bag snatching in Calle Paseo Maritimo.
In the light of the arrest Adra Safety and Mobility councillor Patricia Berenguel thanked the Local Police for “their untiring work and sacrifice to make Adra a safer town.”
She underlined the importance of actions of this kind, which she said “reflect the good service Adra has and which guarantees that our locality is a safe place.”
