THE streets of Cártama in Spain’s Costa del Sol will be filled with colour and vibrancy over the next two weekends thanks to the arrival of the carnival.
Organised by the Council’s Department of Fairs and Festivities, the event will take place from 4pm on Saturday, February 15 in Cártama Pueblo and on Saturday, February 22 in Estación de Cártama.
As part of the celebrations, this weekend a large parade will tour Cártama, starting from the Town Hall and ending in Plaza de la Constitución. Here, a traditional costume contest will be held with officials awarding trophies for the best dressed children, adults and groups.
