A MAN has died after falling some 20 metres to his death from the Pedraforca mountain in Spain’s Pre-Pyrenees.
As reported by the Mossos d’Esquadra police force, the 30-year-old man had lost his footing whilst climbing Pedraforcajust after 6pm on Saturday, February 8, when he plummeted below. A group of hikers had heard the man’s cried for help, immediately alerting the emergency services.
This led to units of the Special Operations Group and the Medical Emergency Group launching a search and rescue operation to locate the man. The emergency teams were able to reach the man at approximately 9pm, however nothing could be done to save the man’s life who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Pedraforca is a popular mountain for hikers located in the comarca of Berguedà. It is one of the most famous and emblematic mountains in the region of Catalonia thanks to its rare form with two peaks.
