Horror as body of mutilated woman knifed to death found in Spain

THE mutilated body a woman has been found in Lugo, Spain, as reported by sources close to the murder investigation.

It is understood that the the victim’s mother had alerted the emergency services at approximately 10pm on Friday, February 7 when she grew concerned about her daughter’s welfare.

Officers arrived to the woman’s apartment located in the district of Gándaras a short time later and upon forcing entry inside they made the horrifying discovery. The woman, who is described as being middle aged and of Spanish nationality, was lying in a pool of blood in the bathroom with multiple stab wounds and cuts to her body, with the most affected area being her neck. Local sources indicate that a sharp object was found nearby.

As Euro Weekly News understands, investigators are keeping all lines of enquiries open and have not ruled out if this was a murder or case of gender violence.

The deceased woman had recently separated from her husband and had two children, a 28- and 14-year-old. Sources state that she was currently in a relationship with a man and lived alone in social housing.

Whilst the investigation is open, the magistrate of the Court of Lugo has ordered the proceedings to be kept secret. The police are currently taking statements from residents who lived in the apartment block as well as family members of the victim in order to shed light on this devastating death.
