Costa Blanca News:Crackdown on abandoned scooters from rentals in Elche

Seville Scooter Crash

THE government team in Elche has instructed the police to begin removing the electric scooters that are rented out by a private company but left attached to railings in different parts of the town.

The Town Council have made attempts to request that the service is withdrawn but has not seen a resolution.

The legal deadline to acknowledge the request has now passed, therefore the government team has informed the Local Police to proceed with the removal of these electric scooters whenever they are attached to fences, lampposts or bicycle locking areas.

In addition, as explained by Esther Díez, Councillor for Mobility at the Council of Elche, in parallel to that decision not to allow the anchoring of electric scooters for rent to urban furniture, the municipal department is working on the drafting of an ordinance on the use of the electric scooter in the town.
