THE OCAL Almeria City Orchestra’s homage to Beethoven continues this month.
The orchestra directed by the British-born Michael Thomas will be presenting the second concert in its Beethoven Plus Cycle on Saturday February 29 at 7.30pm at the Auditorio Maestro Padilla in Almeria city.
‘Beethoven Plus: The Genius of Bonn 2’ will feature Beethoven’s Symphony no. 2. The orchestra will also perform Haydn’s Concert no. 11 for piano, Schubert’s Incidental Music to Rosamunde and Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture.
The winner of Canal Sur TV’s ‘Tierra de Talentos’ Carla Roman Vazquez will be the piano soloist.
OCAL will over the year perform Beethoven’s nine symphonies to mark the 250th anniversary of the great composer’s birth.
