THE AEA (European Automobile Associations) has revealed data highlighting which are the speed cameras that provoke the most fines in Spain.
In 2019, the radar that was most activated by drivers breaking the speed limit in Spain is the one located at kilometre 478.1 of the AP-7 in Sagunto (Valencia), which caught 59,428 drivers.
According to the AEA, of the thousand speed cameras stationed throughout Spain, 41.5% of the speeding fines are triggered by the same 50 radars.
In the list of the 50 radars which issue the most fines according to the study by AEA, the top ten are in the Valencian Community. Among them is the one located at kilometre 5.2 of the V-31 in Valencia, with 46,739 penalties, an increase from the previous year of 27,793 fines.
That said, by Autonomous Community, the most active radars were actually located in Andalusia, with 680,583 reports, 23.2% of the total. Followed by the region of Madrid, with 373,078 reports (12.7%), and in third place was Comunitat Valenciana, with 335,953 (11.4%). La Rioja (39,024), Cantabria (40,147) and Navarra (48,447) are the least reported.
