Man dies in Spain after falling from tractor and plummeting into river

A MAN has sadly died in a traffic accident on the N-260 Spain after his tractor veered off the road and plummeted into a river.

As reported by the Mossos d’Esquadra, the fatal incident took place in at approximately 12.30pm at kilometre 142 on the N-260 road in the municipality of Toses in Girona. It is understood that the tractor left the road and fell into the Rigat River which killed the driver instantly.

Local sources indicate that units from the Mossos d’Esquadra are currently on the scene, and that a medical helicopter and ambulance were deployed to the the site after the accident was called in to the 112 emergency services hotline.

As Euro Weekly News understands, since the beginning of 2020, there have been 11 lives claimed on the roads in Catalonia.
