CRISIS COMMITTEE: Representatives from local authorities in Calpe will oversee the crisis situation.
CALPE town hall took an average of 3.03 days to pay its suppliers’ bills last year. This is the shortest period since records were first kept, the Audit department announced. Not only is the town hall complying with government regulations on paying suppliers, but it is doing so well within the stipulated 30 days. During the third quarter of 2015, it took an average 44.85 days while in 2011, at the height of the economic crisis, it was sometimes 1,000 days before a bill was paid. Being a speedy payer means that suppliers and businesses have confidence in Calpe’s solvency and ability to pay, municipal sources said, and at the same time attracted more bidders for town hall contracts.
