IN CAMPOAMOR, vendors from Teulada Market have demanded that surveillance be increased in the face of increasing security problems that resulted in the theft of wallets to customers, especially older people. They have explained that until October the market had private security but that the Town Council did not renew this service although they were informed the contract was coming to an end. Other problems are that the drivers of the vehicles parked in the space where the market is set up, which during the rest of the week is a parking area, are asked to park elsewhere from eight o’clock in the morning when the market holders are getting ready. However, with nobody to enforce this, they are still moving cars when customers have already arrived. The merchants have asked that the Town Council provide them with constant security or local police patrol as at this time the officers that do patrol the area leave whenever they are called.
