A GUARDIA Civil investigation into a criminal gang targeting cashpoints in the Almanzora region and Granada has resulted in the arrest of 15 Romanian nationals based in Baza. The Guardia said they believe the gang was responsible for at least 16 robberies involving stolen diggers or tractors to yank cashpoints out of the walls at banks and service stations in locations including Alcontar and Seron. Once they had managed to pull out the cashpoints they would make off with them to open them up somewhere where they wouldn’t be seen, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.
