Work on the crossing is well under way Credit: Benalmadena.es

THE work to make the use of pedestrian crossings for people with reduced mobility in Benalmadena less hazardous continues at a pace.

The latest area to be the subject of major work is the Av de La Inmaculada Concepción in Arroyo de la Miel which should take some two weeks to complete.

Three employees of the council will have the extra job of building an island in the road to increase visibility as well as lowering pavements on each side to allow easier access.

Access to the crossing will be paved with non-slip flooring which will be contain slightly raised areas so that those with sight problems will feel the change in terrain as they approach the crossing.
