Costa Blanca News: Calpe strikes up the band

CALPE hosts the Provincial Bands Competition on March 22nd.
The event for bands of between 51 and 70 musicians is being organised by the Alicante provincial council, the Diputacion, Calpe town hall and the Union Musical Calpe-Ifach. The names of the three competing bands were recently drawn at the Palacio Provincial, the Diputacion’s headquarters Alicante City.
The draw was attended by the head of Dipucion’s Culture department Julia Parra, Calpe’s own Culture, Pilar Cabrera and Miguel Pastor, president of the Union Musical Calpe-Ifach. The participating bands will each receive €4,200 with €2,500 for the band awarded the Mention of Honour.
