SPAIN is again on high alert as the Public Health Agency of Catalonia has released a statement to reveal that they are currently investigating a possible case of coronavirus.
The patient is an 8-year-old boy from Wuhan in China who is currently on holiday with his family in Barcelona.
It is understood that the child had presented worrying symptoms of the virus this morning (February 2) and was admitted to Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, a reference centre for high-risk diseases.
The child has already been transferred to the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital who specialise in the treatment of minors. As Euro Weekly News understands, the hospital’s epidemiological laboratory will conduct the test and be able to rule out or confirm if coronavirus has entered into mainland Spain.
