A woman stabs two people in Belgium shortly after the terrorist knife attack in London

Police opened fire on a knife attacker in Belgium.

Belgian police have shot down a woman in the city of Ghent today after stabbing two people.

The West Flanders Police department confirmed the incident and indicated that it is still under investigation. Officers have closed off the main street leading into Ghent.

The event took place approximately one hour after the London Metropolitan Police struck down the alleged perpetrator of a knife attack in Streatham. 

The attack left two people seriously injured.
