Diesel sales drop as Spain becomes more attuned to pollution

AT one time, the Spanish government was in favour of the use of diesel fuel and taxes were (and still are at the moment) lower than of leaded petrol which encouraged the sale of diesel vehicles.

Now however, as the worldwide opinion is that diesel is more polluting than lead free fuel, sales of diesel fuel in Spain have dropped by 0.4 per cent in 2019 for the first time in five years according to the Corporation for Strategic Reserves of Petroleum Products (Cores).
