A DRAMATIC collision between two buses in Marbella resulted in TEN injured yesterday. The collision took place at around 3.15pm in the Avenida Ricardo Soriano, at the bus stop before the crossroads with Calle Calvario, in the direction of Malaga.

Local police have reported that it was a rear-end accident between a city bus, Line 1 and an intercity, articulated bus from Line 79. It is believed that the bus driver of the latter, didn’t brake on time, seemingly under the impression that the other vehicle was going to leave the stop. The misjudgement resulted in a collision from behind which caused great consternation in the area as it occurred at one of the most central stops in the municipality during rush hour.

The Emergency Health Service 112 were notified immediate and several ambulances were swiftly deployed to the area to assist, with the aid of the local police, the ten injured, nine passengers and one of the drivers.

As Euro Weekly News understands, the injuries suffered were mild.

The two buses had to then be removed by cranes and firemen cleaned the road to clear oil stains.
