Overall unemployment down again in Spain by the end of 2019

THE latest survey on employment in Spain, published by the National Statistics Institute, showed that by the end of 2019 unemployment had dropped to 13.78 per cent, the lowest annual figure since 2008.

With the creation of 402,300, the total number unemployed in Spain is now 3,191,900 but the 2019 new jobs total is the lowest since 2014 and a large amount still encompasses temporary jobs based on the run up to Christmas.

Andalucia has seen the largest fall in unemployment with 41,900 people finding jobs.
