Announcement of the Carnival dates Credit: Mijas council
CARNIVAL returns to Mijas over two weekends in February with a promise of music, dancing and colourful parades.
The first events take place on February 15 and 16 and the children’s costume contest will start at 4pm in the Andalucia Park on the Saturday with a large entry expected.
Then at 11.30 the following day it will be the turn of La Cala de Mijas to enjoy the parade and costume contest which will start at the Cultural Centre and then travel around, ending at the park of La Butibamba.
The following Saturday sees the Las Lagunas parade start at 4pm from the Maria Zambrano Park and ending at the Parque Andalucía.
Finally, the last of the parades has an 11.30am start on Sunday from Mijas Pueblo Town Hall and will finish at the Plaza Virgen de la Peña.
