CARNIVAL is just around the corner in Velez-Malaga.
The council has now unveiled the programme of events organised along with the Peña Axarquia and running over the weekend of February 7 to 9.
Highlights will include the classic street procession on the Saturday afternoon. Beginning at 5.30pm it will start off in the Pilar district of the town and end up in the marquee on the Paseo de Andalucia, where there will be a carnival party with DJs providing the music.
That night there will be a prize giving for the best costumes.
On the Sunday at 12 midday there will be another party on the Paseo de Andalucia, this time with children’s entertainment from the Teatro La Carpa.
Anyone wishing to take part in the procession on February 8 has until Friday February 7 to request participation at the Velez-Malaga Town Hall  Ferias y Fiestas delegation from 11am to 2pm or at the Peña Axarquia on the day of the procession from 430pm to 5.30pm.
