A MAN almost became a fugitive after attempting to board a plane at Barcelona-El Prat Airport in Spain after murdering his wife.
As reported by the Mossos d’Esquadra police force, a 45-year-old man of Spanish nationality brutally murdered his partner whose lifeless body was found by officers at a property in the Sant Joan Despí district in the early hours of this morning (January 28).
Suspicious that the husband was responsible for the homicide and finding no trace of him at the home, the police launched a manhunt in a bid to find him. Intelligence indicated that the man had purchased a plane ticket and was due to fly out of Barcelona later that day.
Officers then raced to the airport and found the man where it is understood that he admitted his guilt and claimed that he was trying to leave the country and flee abroad.
As Euro Weekly News understands, the man has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in court in due course.
