Vive Fuengirola con Amor is the watchword for St Valentine’s in Costa del Sol town Spain

Announcing the new promotion

WINTER can often be a quiet time for hospitality businesses especially on the Costa del Sol with the dramatic reduction in tourist visitors which means that local resident spend becomes much more important.

The Fuengirola council is very aware of this and has launched its Vive Fuengirola con Amor initiative, which was first revealed last week with a photographic competition to run around and during St Valentine’s Day.

The next step sees 172 different establishments, consisting of retail businesses, hotels and restaurants all of which will be unveiling special offers to run from February 7 to 16 and it will be easy to recognise those taking part as they will all have special identification on their windows.

More than 120 shops will offer discounts of up to 70 per cent on selected items and some will be creating couples packages which will be ideal valentine’s gifts to share.

36 restaurants are creating special lovers menus at reasonable prices which will be on offer each day of the promotion rather than just February 14 and 13 hotels are putting together promotional packages which they hope will attract romantic couples to enjoy the town.

Many of those taking part have donated gifts to the council which will be used as prizes in a number of events which are being planned and as participating businesses come from all over Fuengirola, no matter which part you visit, there is bound to be somewhere promoting Vive Fuengirola con Amor.
