THE Palacio de Congresos in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, has forecasted an exceptional 2020, which will see the best results achieved since it opened in April 2017. In a statement released to the press, the management at the Palacio detailed that it had made a “qualitative leap in the city” and that the conferences in which they host “is a clear example of the positive transformation experienced in Mallorca.” They highlighted the collaboration between the public and private sector to create an appealing brand for the island which has garnered the interests of the European business market (MICE) which includes meetings, conferences and exhibitions. They added that their large-scale events have attracted more than 1,000 participants, which will continue in the year ahead. Some of their most important events scheduled on the calendar for 2020 include the National Congress of the Spanish Society of Glaucoma, which will take place in March; a conference for the Spanish Society of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Paediatric Nutrition in May; and a meeting for the Spanish Association of Paediatrics in June.
