PIERS MORGAN, who is never shy in voicing his opinion, has lashed out at Hugh Grant, calling the actor “disgusting” over his recently aired comments on the British General Election.
In an interview with AP Entertainment, Mr Grant, who often speaks of his distaste for Boris Johnson and the impending Brexit, lamented the Prime Minister’s landslide victory in last month’s poll. He said that the result was a “catastrophe” and that “the country is finished.”
Commenting on the clip as it was shared on social media, the Good Morning Britain presenter slammed the actor over his views. Posting on his Twitter account he said:
“Hugh Grant is so disgusting.
How dare he say Britain is ‘finished’?
“The only thing that’s ‘finished’ is this stuck-up arrogant twerp’s credibility as any kind of political expert.”

In the lead up to the General Election, Mr Grant threw his support behind the Liberal Democrats and urged people to vote tactically to ensure the Conservatives did not win.
Following Mr Johnson’s unprecedented victory, Mr Morgan had taunted the Notting Hill actor social media, stating that his unpopularity in fact helped Boris Johnson to win. When the results were revealed, Mr Morgan replied to Grant’s tweet which said “there goes the neighbourhood” by saying “No, there goes your credibility. The British people listened to your democracy-wrecking garbage & told you to f*** off.”
