EX-PAT WHO FELL FROM BALCONY IN SPAIN’S MAJORCA DIES

Family issue tear-jerking tribute to an expat who has died following a fall from a first-floor balcony on the Spanish holiday island of Majorca last year.

Movie scriptwriter Carl Whiteley tumbled from the balcony in the holiday island’s capital Palma on January 29 2019 and was left with a horrific head injury following the tragic accident. Carl’s partner Esther explained that the two of them had only just moved into the central Palma flat where the accident happened and that they were still getting used to their new home.

Carl was well-known for his work in cinema, including writing the script for the film Empire. He is also behind the Harry Potter convention DiagCon, based at Manchester’s Printworks.

Carl (second left next to Alice Cooper) regularly rubbed shoulders with Hollywood superstars

Since then the 40-year-old, from Lincolnshire, has been fighting for his life in a coma at the island’s Son Espases Hospital, doctors were administering morphine and antibiotics, right up until his death.

The Spanish friends he made in the short time he was living on the island have expressed their “Total Shock and great sadness” at the news and will no doubt be celebrating his memory at the local bars he visited while living on the island.

His family have now confirmed that he passed away on December 22 and that his body was cremated on January 24. His Spanish partner, Esther Munoz, who lived with Carl and her 10-year-old daughter Lucy said that he was her ‘best friend’, “ I can’t describe how I feel because it feels like I’m empty without you. You and Lucy are my world.”

“We will always love you and I hope when our time arrives you will be waiting for us. I can’t wait until that moment comes. I miss you so so much my love.”
