Spain’s Super Speed Low Cost Train Tickets Launch Monday At Just 5 Euros between Madrid And Barcelona

Monday will see tickets go on sale for Spain’s latest fast train that will link Madrid to Barcelona with tickets as low as 5 euros.

The new super speed trains have been painted in a loud purple colour with a few go fast stripes.

Whilst tickets go on sale on Monday the route itself doesn’t start until Easter but with the special promotion of 5 euro tickets the Renfe expect a high demand and quick sell out.

Customers have been already trying to purchase tickets online and at ticket booths but they have to clamour on Monday morning at the same time.

It’s reported that Renfe have this weekend been working on their servers in anticipation of the demand and avoiding their website to crash out with the volume.

The deal is that the first thousand tickets sold will only be 5 euros and the deal will last for a ten day period which will see everybody trying to purchase in the morning first thing.

The low cost budget trains will hurtle at 340km/h covering the near 400 mile journey in just 3 hours and after the promotion tickets will range between just 10 euros and 60 euros.

The main idea is to get traffic off the roads and onto the trains especially coach users.

We spoke to Thomas Mendy who is a train enthusiast from Fuengirola who said ” This is like the Ryanair of the rails, they have taken out first class and the dining section and smashed the prices, I will booking for the experience first thing Monday, well I will stay up to midnight and then book”
