Footballer Jordan Sinnott formerly of Halifax Town has died in unknown circumstances just hours before today’s game.
Halifax Town FC released a statement this afternoon announcing Jordan Sinnott from Derbyshire had passed away.
Halifax Town posted on Twitter: ‘We’ve received terrible news that our former player Jordan Sinnott has passed away.
‘The circumstances are not clear and we’ll not be commenting further out of respect to Jordan’s family.
‘Our deepest condolences go to Jordan’s family at this extremely difficult time.’
Sinnott was a a great little midfield player highly regarded by the clubs fans.
The son of former Huddersfield captain Lee Sinnott, had been on loan to Matlock Town FC from Alfreton Town FC since August after leaving Halifax Town.
Both clubs also released statements on their Twitter pages earlier today that they would be postponing this afternoon’s games.
The player was only 25 years old.
