SPANISH audiences seem to have a penchant for symphony orchestras offering more than simple classical music and the latest trend is for music from the movies.

The Royal Film Concert Orchestra (RFCO) is comprised of some 90 classical musicians and a number of interpreters of film music and is part of the Fundación Excelentia, a not for profit organisation which organises a number of different concerts, mainly featuring classical music.

They are currently touring Spain with their Morricone, Williams and Zimmer show which features well-known numbers from blockbuster movies such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Cinema Paradiso and many more.

The orchestra will be playing at the Victor Villegas Auditorium in Murcia City on Saturday February 29 at 8pm with tickets costing from €34 to €50.

Their next event later in the year will be a selection from the soundtrack of the hugely successful Game of Thrones TV series, much of which was filmed in Spain.
