PLASTIC Free Seas Worldwide will be holding a special event on Saturday, February 1, from 10 am 12:30 pm at Cabopino beach with the aim of collecting over 300kg of plastic from the beach, rocks and sand dunes.

They will have the support of ProDunas whose environmental work is crucial in keeping Cabopino a place of beauty and Swans school will be in attendance with many pupils rolling up their sleeves to lend a hand

On the day there will be a children’s educational talk where team leader Joe will be advising people how they can reduce plastic waste. PFSW believes the future of the planet is in the hands of today’s youth and that it is so important that children understand the enormous burden they have inherited from past generations. The hope is that coming to a beach clean up will be a huge insight into how much plastic there is.

Parents are urged to bring along their children and get involved. Craig Webb from Plastic Free Seas Worldwide will be on site to offer advice on how to reduce your plastic waste at home, tips on how to cut your single use plastic waste and of course getting his hands dirty cleaning up the beaches.

PFSW are now in their third year of beach cleaning and have grown organically with a great bunch of volunteers who take pride in keeping it simple. All they ask is that you simply turn up and go home with a great sense of achievement.
