TORREVIEJA is set to begin it starts its annual carnival on Friday, January 31. It will run for a month until February 29 with a programme packed with fun for all the family.

Over the following weeks, residents and visitors will see the streets of the town filled with fun, music, dancing and floats parading through the centre of Torrevieja.

On Friday, January 31 at 9 pm, the festivities begin with the Carnival Opening Speeches and presentation of the Carnival Queen in the Teatro Municipal. Followed by the Presentation and Coronation of the Queens in the Teatro Municipal on Saturday, February 1 at 9 pm.

One of the most anticipated and colourful events comes on Saturday 8 at 9.30 pm with the fantastic Drag Queen National Contest in the International Auditorio.


However, the most important event is on Sunday, February 16 at 5.30 pm, when the Grand Carnival Parade begins from the María Asunción Square, with up to 32 groups participating.

Finally, on Saturday, February 29 at 9.00 pm, the National Competition of Chirigotas and Comparsas closes the carnival at the Teatro Municipal.
