A ROQUETAS de Mar robber is under arrest after the Guardia Civil surprised him with stolen goods in his hands.
Officers detained 27-year old E.Z. for breaking into a Roquetas home via a staircase just minutes earlier.
A night patrol had been doing the rounds of a residential area close to the beach in the early hours of the morning when they spotted an individual on a bike lurking around.
Officers approached him and asked for ID, discovering he was carrying clothing and other items which they suspected were not his.
An inspection of the area and the homeowner’s report about the robbery confirmed the items had been stolen.
It turned out the 27-year old has an extensive criminal record for house break-ins in the western part of Almeria province.
The items taken from the Roquetas property have been returned to the rightful owner.
