‘Pop star’ refuses to pay €4,500 hotel bill in Spain because ‘they are famous’

A WOMAN has been arrested in Spain after refusing to pay her hotel bill because she claimed to be famous.

The bold refusal took place on Tuesday morning (January 21) in the capital of San Sebastián, resulting in the 37-year-old spending a night in jail.

Local sources indicate that the woman caused quite a scene as she was presented with the €4,500 sum when she checked out. She had threatened the employee working behind the desk that she would ensure they would be fired immediately for not knowing who she was, and would also get the hotel shut down.

The woman claimed that she was the mastermind behind a well-known website and was once a singer for a famous music group in Spain, and for this reason should not pay the bill for her extensive stay from December 31 until yesterday.

The police were called to the incident soon after the argument pursued and upon questioning both parties they arrested the woman for fraud. As Euro Weekly News understands, the woman, who has not been named, is due to make an appearance in court tomorrow.
