Famous singer La Mari helps fight against leukaemia in Spain

MALAGA born María del Mar Rodríguez, known as La Mari sang with popular Spanish group Chambao and has recorded a song for a special documentary about the life of Pablo Ráez who came from Marbella.

Having suffered from cancer, she appeared at the Hospital Real de la Misericordia to present a video of her song Corazón valiente (Brave heart) dedicated to the young man who had leukaemia and whose fight is recorded in the acclaimed TV documentary Siempre Fuerte (Always strong).

More than 200 people including Paco Ráez and Vladimir Ráez, father and uncle of Pablo Ráez attended the event and saw La Mari perform the song live as well.

After her performance she reminded the audience that leukaemia can often be reversed if those suffering have access to bone marrow donors.
