The State Agency of Meteorology (Aemet) has activated the yellow warning for heavy rains in the province of Malaga that will extend from midnight until Thursday. The forecasts point to an accumulation of water of 20 litres per square metre in an hour and of up to 40 litres per square metre in 12 hours.

As of tomorrow, Wednesday, the risk will be concentrated in the regions of La Axarquia and Costa del Sol before it moves progressively towards the Guadalhorce.

In the perimeter that runs from Marbella to Estepona up to 180 litres per square metre are expected between tomorrow and Thursday.

According to the Aemet, the skies will remain covered over the next few days and the wind will blow from the east as of Wednesday with gusts of up to 60 kilometres per hour.

Snow is expected between 1,200 and 1,400 metres above sea level and temperatures will remain around 14 degrees.
