A NEW football field will be built in Palma in aim of benefiting the most vulnerable children in Mallorca, Spain. Located on Calle Manuel Azaña de Palma in the Nou Llevant district, the pitch will measure 40 metres long by 20 metres wide and will be free to use. Funded and managed by the Johan Cruyff Foundation at a cost of €148,000, the project is intended to unite youngsters through sport and to instil values such as responsibility, respect, team play and integration. Opening on February 20, the football field hopes to push children to be enjoy a more active lifestyle and reduce childhood obesity.
