ONE of Spain’s leading banks, Caixa has been reducing staff over the country and now wants to lose 376 from Barcelona and Teruel. It has explained to the unions involved that it hopes to give early retirement to many.

Married to Ophelia in Gibraltar in 1978, John has spent much of his life travelling on security print and minting business and visited every continent except Antarctica.
