First inclusive children’s playground in Costa del Sol town Spain

Mayor Navas and Councillor Villazón Credit: Ayuntamiento de Benalmadena

HAVING invested €260,000 in the creation of a number of children’s parks around Benalmadena, Mayor Víctor Navas and Councillor Joaquín Villazón visited the new park at Plaza de la Mezquita to view the work done.

There had been some confusion of the cost of this particular children’s area which is referred to as a 100 per inclusive park as in initial release, it was wrongly suggested that that park cost the full €260,000.

In actual fact the money spent included a new park in the Plaza Adolfo Suárez de Pueblosol and a special inclusive swing installed at the Idaira Park in Arroyo de la Miel.

The council made a commitment to create a play area for all local children, bearing in mind that some are not completely mobile or able bodied and has now created what may be the first of a number of similar areas suitable for all children.
