MOTRIL joins a solidarity campaign to help Lucas, a three-year-old boy from Almeria, suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukemia, who needs a bone donation from a compatible donor. On January 31, Motril residents will be able to go to the La Matraquilla civic center to donate blood and marrow between 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The town joins a campaign initiated by the parents of the child on social networks. Through the “Médula para Lucas” Facebook page, his parents are trying to find bone marrow donors.  Lucas was admitted to the University Hospital of Torrecardenas, where he is treated for this type of leukemia that is characterized because the bone marrow produces too many immature lymphocytes.
