Child predator linked to string of sexual assaults and rapes in Spain

THE Mossos d’Esquadra police force are investigating whether the man who was arrested for a string of sexual assaults in Spain is linked to other unsolved crimes in the region.

The 24-year-old detainee was arrested last Thursday, January 9, where he is accused of multiple sexual assaults on young girls since the end of 2018. The attacks took place across the municipality of Lleida, where he stalked and targeted minors, one who was as young as 12-years-old.

As reported by officers working on the case, the man preyed on schoolgirls on the street, launching brazen assaults in public. In several cases he had even followed the girls into their homes to commit his terrifying crimes.

The police state that the assaults were carried out very quickly and always in the early hours of the morning, where in almost all incidents he had covered his face, making it difficult for the authorities to identify him. 

In the case of the 12-year-old girl who was sexually assaulted, she was approached by the man as she was walking her dog in Balàfia. He then followed her home and crept up behind her as she entered inside her apartment building where he then violently there her onto the ground, removing her trousers before carrying out his sexual assault. 

Local sources indicate that investigators are currently looking at four other attacks in the municipality, where in all cases young girls were stalked by a man who then carried out a violent sexual assault. As Euro Weekly News understands, the man will remain in custody until his trial.
