Terror in Spain’s capital as man who launched stabbing attack on police officers is shot dead

A SERIOUS incident has taken place in Madrid, Spain, as a man who launched a knife attack on two police officers has been shot dead.

As reported by a spokesman at the National Police Headquarters in the capital, a call was made to the 091 emergency services hotline in the early hours of this morning (January 12) from a woman to report that her daughter’s boyfriend had been making serious threats.

The woman explained that the 50-year-old man was at her daughter’s property on Calle Caranavajos and had warned her daughter that he was going to kill her by burning her alive.

Alongside the mother, officers promptly arrived at the daughter’s house, however once alerting those inside of their arrival, no one responded. Officers when proceeded to force entry inside the property, and once opening the front door the man launched a terrifying knife attack on the officers.

One police officer was stabbed in the neck where he subsequently fell to the ground, with the other officer being knifed in the thorax. To prevent any more serious injuries, it is understood that the officer who was lying on the floor reached for his weapon and fired at the aggressor. As Euro Weekly News understands, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Upon the realisation of the severity of the incident, further police units and ambulances raced to the property where paramedics treated the officers before they were rushed to Hospital October 12. It is reported by the National Police that they are both in a serious condition and an update will be made later today to provide full details on the incident to the public.
