A patrol spotted a man sitting on a curb between two cars, his clothing and physical characteristics matching the description of an individual wanted for the attempted sexual assault in December. When officers approached him he got aggressive, prompting the officers to call for backup.
At this point the 39-year old tried to make off. Two of the officers were injured in the process of stopping him from getting away.
Back at the Guardia station the detainee was identified as D.K.S. of no fixed address. A court had issued an order for him to be located.
He now faces charges for both the sexual assault and for assaulting the officers.
