London’s Madame Tussaud’s has removed Harry and Meghan from the royal family display with ‘immediate effect’. It’s the most popular exhibition, however the waxwork museum wasted no time dumping the couple off it after they announced they were taking a stepping back from Royal Duties.
The couple originally stood next to Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip, but images show today there is now an empty space. The General manager Steve Davies has said: ‘Alongside the rest of the world we are reacting to the surprising news that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be stepping back as senior Royals. From today Meghan and Harry’s figures will no longer appear in our Royal Family set.’ It has not been said where the couple will be relocated, but they will remain an important feature Madame Tussaud’s. Mr Davies said: ‘As two of our most popular and well loved figures they will of course remain an important feature at Madame Tussaud’s London as we watch to see what the next chapter holds for them.’
Harry and Meghan released a statement on their Instagram on Wednesday that they were stepping down from ‘Royal Duties’ to become more financially independent. People have reacted on social media by calling the move “brutal” due to the speed they were removed.
