EIGHTEEN Three Kings processions, more than 1,000 kilos of sweets and thousands of happy little faces was the magical finale to Nijar’s Festive Season celebrations.
Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar had their work cut out for them in Nijar on Sunday. From 3.30pom onwards they were taking part in the parades staged all over the municipality, accompanied by their royal pages, and giving out sweeties and spreading happiness wherever they went. The three Wise Mens’ packed agenda then continued with personally handing out gifts in the different districts.
“We had an extensive Christmas programme which culminated with the visit from the Three Kings, on which we had the collaboration of different associations, and who we thank for their full involvement”, commented Nijar Culture councillor and provincial deputy Yolanda Lorenzo.
She also thanked the Local Police, Civil Protection and the municipal cleaning and technical service for all their hard work in the run-up to the Three Kings processions and for the emergencies plan put in place for the event.
“Concerts, festivals, visits from the royal postmen and different shows have made up the winter festival agenda, but above all Nijar council has considered the youngest members of the family as the indisputable stars of Christmas”, she stressed.
