SPAIN’S Andalusian Women’s Institute (AMI) financed in 2019 a total of 76 projects throughout Andalusia. Activities that foment the eradication of gender violence, aid with the care of women at risk of social exclusion, plus the promotion of equality.
In 2019, the Andalusian Women’s Institute allocated a joint budget of four million euros, an increase of 700,000 euros compared to 2018
30 associations who actively promote and foment the eradication of gender violence, as well non-profit entities who present women in situation of social exclusion have benefited from the subsidies.
Offical data revealed, as outlined in epdata, of the 55 fatal victims of gender-based violence recorded last year, a total of 44 had not filed a complaint. Though convictions for gender-based violence as well as complaints related to domestic violence have increased in the last year, according to statistics for 2018 made public by the Observatory against Domestic and Gender Violence.
