Immigrant faces expulsion from Spain after violating a woman on a coach

AN IMMIGRANT who sexually assaulted a woman on a coach in Spain is facing expulsion from the country.

The horrifying incident took place on a coach travelling on the AP-7 which connects Lleida to Valencia, when a 30-year-old Pakistani man launched a brazen violation on the woman he was sat next to.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office today (January 7), the man had been feeling sexually aroused and decided to touch the woman’s breasts with his elbow. Evidently shocked but initially thinking it may have been an accident due to the small seating space, the woman remained in her seat. However, moments later he started to touch her again, this time making circular movements across her chest.

The woman then decided to get up, with the man then putting his hand between her leg and moving it up until her intimate area, where she then screamed out for help. Realising what had happened, the driver of the coach pulled to the side of the road and once aware of the facts, the police were called.

Shortly after, officers from the Mossos d’Esquadra arrived at the scene, where the bus had been stationed in L’Aldea in Tarragona, placing the man in handcuffs. Once back at the police station an identity check was made which showed that the man had no legal right to remain in Spain.

The case is due to go to court later this month, where prosecutors are asking that the immigrant receives 18 months in prison and on his release and is urged to be sent back to Pakistan on the guidelines of Spanish governmental laws. This is not only due to him overstaying his tourist visa, but that he has failed to adapt into Spanish society by complying with expected social behaviour.
