Goldilocks and the Three Bears is coming to the Careline Theatre, Alcalali in Jalon Valley, from Wednesday, January 15 until Saturday 18. Shows begin at 8 p.m. with a matinee performance on Saturday at three o’clock.
The classic fairy tale is brought to life by the wonderful script written by Peter Long and Keith Rawsley. The story centres on Ma Barnaby who runs a travelling circus together with her Daughter Goldilocks and son Barney. Unfortunately, a wicked zoo owner called Baron Von Trappen follows them around and gradually steals Ma’s animals. Poor Ma hasn’t paid her circus performers in weeks and then discovers that the Baron is about to steal her remaining animals.
Help comes in the form of handsome gypsy boy Antonio. He and Goldilocks find a cottage in the woods and as a result, meet the family of bears who live there. The pair discover that the bears can dance and it Is agreed that they will dance at the circus.
The show is a great success and Ma retrieves her animals from the wicked Baron who gets his just deserts. So, like every good panto, everybody lives happily ever and the course of true love runs smooth.
