A FIRE on Monday night destroyed part of the Boracay beachside restaurant in Garrucha.
A post on the restaurant’s Facebook page reported the blaze broke out in the bar area of the eatery, which had been closed for the start of staff holidays just hours earlier.
The post explained that as the bar area was all done out in wood it was completely burnt, commenting, “you can imagine the damage.”
Thanks to the rapid reaction of firefighters and the emergency services the fire was put out before it could cause more destruction.
The Boracay post expressed huge gratitude to the Levante fire brigade, Local Police, the Guardia Civil and Garrucha Civil Protection on Facebook for their speedy response to the incident and announced every effort would be made to be ready to open up again at the usual time of year.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, the Boracay post stated.
